CONTEXT
The global Internet now has more than one billion users worldwide. More
than
21 million Canadians, 67.9% of the population, regularly connect to
this
network of networks.

As the number of users increases, civil society, consumer associations,
businesses, and academics are all becoming more aware of the critical
infrastructure and processes that keep the Internet running smoothly.

The Internet is unique in that the policies that govern its core
structures
are still decided in an open fashion, in keeping with the spirit with
which
the network was originally built. Groups and individuals from all walks
of
life are encouraged to participate in the construction of global
internet
policy.

This means that there is an important opportunity for Canadian
participation.

Hosted by the Internet Corporation for assigned Names and Numbers
At-Large

this is very short open notice for TorCommunity. If I can't make it
Could someone table the question on the issue between ICANN and CIRA ??

it goes without saying that the open letter CIRA issued to ICANN will
be discussed at the meeting. In fact, staff from CIRA will be there
too.

Hope you and/or others can make the event.

regards

Robert
