I've been using the TopBraid Ensemble (TopBraid Suite Version 3.3.1)
to construct the web-based user interface by first creating a new
application, I got two component for the new application: Tree and
Resulst Grid, then I saved the new application and close the
application. But the following problems occur when I open the
application under TopBraid Suite Console:

1. Sometimes I'm not able to create a new event, and all the data is
missing from the event wiring.
2. When I add more component on the application, then I click "Save
App", I'm not able to save it.

Do you have any suggestions on it?

Thanks

Carol

Carol,

We can't answer the first question without having more details to better
understand the steps you were following.

As far as the second question, does this happen when you start with one of
the system applications - New app or Default app? If so, you need to use
'Save As' and provide a new base URL and application name. System
applications cannot be overridden with user changes. They stay as persistent
templates/examples.

After you do 'Save As', return to the TBS Console and select the application
you have created. When you make further changes to it, you will be able to
use 'Save'. This should be explained in the TBE Application Development
guide.

Regards,

Irene

Thanks

Hi Irene,

Thanks for your reply, the same problem happened to me when I save the application today, this are the steps I was followed:
1. I created a new application first.
2. Then I used "Save As" to save the new application with a new base URL and application name.
3. I close the newly save application, returned to the TBS Console and select the application just been created.
4. I started with adding a new component (a form) in the application, and created a new event, when I tried to save the changes, there comes the error message that couldn't save my application, I'm attaching the screen dump for the error message to you in this email.

Thanks,

Carol

Hi Carol,

Using TopBraid Suite Version 3.3.1, I followed the first steps you
described, as well as, the recipe you gave in your last post.
However, I was unable to reproduce any of the problems you described,
nor did I receive the error messages you attached. This error may be
related to having multiple files with the same base URI (http://.../
configurable/Jia). The Base URI Management page ([TBL URL]/admin/
baseURIMgmt) may help identify base URI conflicts.

Cheers,
