Dear members of 5.

In this very moment, Eric started topic "What does TOP mean to you?"
Eric got respond from Magnus and me to his topic.

I translated part of text "definition of TOP" that explains certain
connotation of transparency , which is part of TOP.

After that we did not move forward and personaly I suppose we do not
find our goal accomplished by thoughts excanged at these topics.

This is the reason I find we could probably create some clear strategy
for realisation of our first goal. So, in the telephone call to Markus,
we discussed over some clasical oganisational strategies we could use.

So, I will propose strategy based on three fundamental questions:

Where are we now?
Where would we like to be?
How do we get there?

The first two qestions are oriented to articulation of curent state of
definition of TOP and our personal desires, meaning, what do we
actually want from it?

The third part is actual goal strategy.

Though, as long as Markus suggested this method as an option we could
use, I would like to let Markus makes further explanaiton that could
explain to all of us why should we eventually use this method.

Of course, we can use any method that is available, though we should be
systematic and able to understand desires of other members in order to
create satisfying product as result of our first goal.

After Markus gives us some thoughts I eventually missed, please make a
notice if you are willing to participate in the whole process, or you
find some other process more satisfying? If that is so, we should find
desired method in less than 2 week in order to keep goal, not procedure
oriented.

Dear Members,

Well I proposed to Gale this little three questions since they are the essence
of strategic planing. The answer to the first question "Where we are now?"
should give the us the starting point, our particular situation right now.
The answer to the second question "Where we want to be?" defines the goal,
the ultimate state we want to achieve. The answer to the third question "How
we plan to get there?" should give strategy, a particular course of action
how to get from the starting point to the goal.
If I understood well, Gale want's to use this method to define what TOP
actually is, what is not and how we plan to achieve a definition behind which
we will stand 100%. If this is right I propose that every one of us should
answer for his self to this three little questions, so we can see what our
next steps are. I'll make a starting point with answering them for my self:

Where we are now?

As I see it we (the 5 of us) are in a conceptualization phase. We all know
that we want "true democracy" but we have only vague ideas of how such
democracy should look like. We have no actual definition of TOP (transparent,
open and public political action), but it's obvious that we need such a
definition that will guide us in our future action.

Where we want to be?

From my perspective, the state we need to achieve is one where we have a
definition of TOP in all particular aspects of it (political, sociological,
psychological, organizational, philosophical etc.) behind which all of us
will stand 100%.

How we plan to get there?

To get to this point I propose the following way of action. First let us
define which aspects of TOP are very important to every one of us. To me
essential aspects are the organizational and the informational aspect. I
suppose others will find other aspects of particular interest. Then when we
have aspects, let us define TOP in every one of them allways having in mind
the three essential parts of it transparency, openness and publicity. The
results (and all initial versions) should be published on our wiki.

Hopes this helps, Gale ;-)

Best regards

In this part I would like to add some requierments of definition I have
in mind. Definition needs to be clear and catchy in order to penetrate
easily. It needs to have operational worthiness, meaning set of rules
person/organsation had to carry out if it wants to act in TOP manner.

I like it. What others think about it?

People with some common understanding, the opinion that internet and
politics will integrate with one another in some ways.

Democracy as a common concept, but one we also need to define. Are we
all for a true/direct democracy? I am.

I agree. Define then act.

The action would be one of gaining some political importance. Attract
attention I guess, try to change the way information in political
processes is shared, the way people can enter in politics.

My interest is to build things. I'm an engineer at heart.

Right now I feel we could build concepts to define how politics should
be held on the internet, or using the internet.

Already I envision things like
* trust <- replicability <- transparency
* equality <- identity <- physical reality

Where we are now?

>People with some common understanding, the opinion that internet and

-Agreed!

Democracy as a common concept, but one we also need to define. Are we
all for a true/direct democracy? I am.

The only true way is the direct one. It will be proven but has to be
proven.

Where we want to be?

-A good defintition of TOP is an important start. Decisionmaking should
be the next step.
The better theese two are made, the more we will attract more people
wich will increase gravity.

How we plan to get there?

>My interest is to build things. I'm an engineer at heart.
-Me to, unfortunately not a programmer...-(

>Right now I feel we could build concepts to define how politics should
be held on the internet, or using the internet.

-Agreed!

So, we need official opinion of Eric to set Markus proposal as our
official strategy.
