Need way to Pause

Tomighty is great! I especially like the "Breaks" feature, and that I
can see the time in the tray...

...but I'm still using SnapTimer (http://dan.hersam.com/software/
snaptimer) for the Pomodoro technique, because it has a "Pause"
feature.

I use a timer especially to measure how much time I'm spending on
different projects, working in 25 minute "chunks".

But often in the middle of one of these chunks I say get a phonecall
from someone that I need to take. With SnapTimer I can "Pause", take
the call, and then restart the timer. This doesn't seem possible in
Tomighty sadly :(

I would be very grateful if you could add this feature, as I'd love to
use Tomighty, but being able to pause the timer is essential for my
work.

thanks, Neil

Hi Neil,

The pause feature is already in the "to do" list. It's actually
planned to be released with version 0.9, but I will move it down to
the upcoming 0.8 as you're not the first one who asked for it :-)
It's also an easy change to make to the code.

Please take a look at issue #22, I think it's exactly what you are suggesting:

If I am to play devil's advocate - there is no pause in Pomodoro technique.

You should interrupt the pomodoro and mark the cause of interruption.

Oh yeah, you're right. Pomodoros are indivisible according to the
technique, and I personally prefer that way.

However, regarding this particular feature, I'm inclined to allow the
user choose whether she prefers to stick with this rule or break it.
I mean, the interruption must be the default behavior, but you should
be allowed to switch to pausable pomodoros by changing a configuration
option.

We had already discussed this before.

How Celio said, the ideal would be to implement this option, but as a non-standard configuration item.

Hi Celio

It's also important to have a way for Tomighty to "just sit in the
system tray", doing nothing, for when one needs it...

Especially since it takes a two or three seconds to load when starting
it.

thanks, Neil

Hi Neil,

Do you mean it should run when the operating system starts?

Hi Celio

Waiting with keen anticipation for the "Pause" feature - any idea when
this will be available?

thanks, Neil

Hi Neil,

Unfortunately I can't tell you when it will be released. I'm actually
a bit (too much) busy with other things but I will get my hands back
on Tomighty as soon as I get a good spare time.

Hi, I'm new to pomodoro and Tomighty.  Like the timer, but am hoping there will be a version .8 with the pause option mentioned here.  Any update?

Thanks!
