Hi all,
I followed the ideas of supporting kids by colouring books and toys.
I really find them great. I only stayed 3 days in a shelter but there
were so many kids and most of them were shocked and tired and people
couldn't really take care.
Thinking about it, I had the idea why not creating a small story
(picture) book which addresses the entire situation on a for children
understandable way.
Unfortunately, setting funny geometries and routes on printed circuit
boards is my highest possible art output, beside of scientific
diagrams .
Thus, I thought maybe some more gifted people like to pick up the idea....

A story about some animal families (e.g., a little rabbit family)
loosing home in a earthquake tsunami like scenario... staying in a
shelter... daddy is going back to work to help his colleagues to
rebuild the company. People line up for resources.... the cold dark
nights and the difficulties esp. kids get aware... why I can't go to
school, why is my friend now so fare away....
sure finally there IS a happy end... a new home... friends and family
are all together. All this with little paragraphs of text which
explains in a way children could understand what is happening and why
is it happening.

I guess the artist people here are getting a picture.... maybe someone
has even contact to professional psychological doctors or scientists
which might like to contribute to get a really good and sensitive book
together which really address the feelings of those kids...

My gf was preparing a book for kids. It was a story around a Turkish family and
she is trying to get it published.

I asked her and she said that she can work on this. Her mail is
ozgu...@gmail.com, can someone add her to the mailing list so that she can
inform us?

All the best

I love this idea, and even if Taylan's gf (name please) is working on
one, a locally done one would be great too!

Man.  Old Japanese culture = so much more interesting than present day mainstream Japanese culture.  (What happened, Japan?  Where did your soul go?)

You didn't see this part in present day Japanese culture?

I didn't - thanks for pointing it out.  But I'd say that's still present day SUB-culture.  Japan has a thriving collection of sub-cultures, but imho much of mainstream culture is relatively void of...culture.  (And perhaps the former contributes to the latter?)
