Very nice congrats!
Now for V2 get a even smaller SMD version,  find some freak with a pick and place who is willing to make thousands over thousands of them and start selling them so dirt cheap that each and every project which consists of more then a battery,  a resistor and a LED could afford to drop in one of these tiny boards.

Could really take off....

The Digispark it's already in SMD, it's bigger than a DigiSporc and costs 10$.

So I think I can sell the DigiSporc  at least at $14.95.

About $5 more, to cover the cost of the "miniaturization effort" done by my R&D department. :)

Hi,

just did a quick check. Parts cost for 100 units in SMD should be
around 60 Euro (the 100 Attiny 45 takes 50 Euro, the LEDs another 5) .
PCB (done by a well known German company) about 80 Euro for 100 units
and even cheaper if you source much cheaper options....
That is, one board would be about 1.4 Euro or 140 Yen or 1.8 dollar.
Selling them for 3 Euro, 300 Yen, $4 might be possible.
Just want to say, if you buy the Attiny45 in a local shop you might
already pay around 350 Yen... that means the DigiSporc would be
cheaper then a naked Attiny 45 in a local shop !!!! This project make
sens and is a nice demonstration if you really go to take the large
discounts for larger quantity orders into account.
It might also make a nice giveaway....

Some more thoughts,
You might save the money (and labor) to solder the pin-heads if you
only offer rather tight vias. People could use a straight pin header
row, plug them into the arduino and just press the DigiSporc-PCB
against the headers during programming. A PCB could have a double row
of vias one for programming and one to solder wires on. Sparkfun onces
should a modified pattern for pin headers which makes them "sticky" to
the PCB that would work in that case to create a good contact during
programming and even might remove the need to press the PCB by hand
against the programmer.

Actually standard retail cost would be 2.5x materials + assembly cost. So at
140 yen material cost, I'd probably add about 50 yen for PCB cost and 100
yen for kitting and packaging. That would be approx 300 yen total cost. 2.5x
that would be around 750 yen, although 700 yen would also be do-able. It
would be super cheap, but I doubt you'd want to undersell too much since it
will be a bit of work and risk to handle inventory, kitting, stocking,
packing, and selling.

Just my 2 yen.
