Must officially apologise up-front for moving the date on this so many
times and posting this at short notice. I promise that I won't change it
again - assuming of course no more natural disasters and my pre-natal
son not causing trouble from inside the womb.
We are a go for Saturday 9th April (two days away), 11am - 3pm. The
lantern building can carry on in the background if desired, I expect we
should be able to co-exist in the space for the most part.
Topics will be:
* De-mystifying Asterisk's terminology, because as Karamoon pointed out
that's what's difficult about it more than anything else.
* Installing Asterisk on an Ubuntu VMWare instance
* Options for connecting to PSTN (normal landline phone)
* Use with smartphones and PC SIP clients
* Trunking / call routing / dial plans - aka saving money through
optimization
* Voice mail and voice menus (ties in heavily with what Karamoon
mentioned about disaster areas)
Please come if you can, I'd like to transfer as much of my practical
knowledge as possible as wide as possible, especially given how
effective babies are at hampering travel plans to help disaster areas
(also life outside of them in general).
Thanks - please sign up through the THS site if you can,
Rick
