I think we can use this to make our emergency list?

Emergency list is done and posted on the wall, TELL and himawari's numbers are included as far as I remember.

I know but I thought this might help if we did not get all the ones close by...

Sorry I was terse in my last mail, it's a pain to type on a phone.

Like I said, the number for TELL is on the poster (along with this
exact link, in fact!). I'll be the first one to say I don't have an
eye for design, so if anyone wants to take a look and give suggestions
for what needs to be emphasized and how, I'm all ears.

I think the key here is that it's an emergency poster, so we need to
have a few numbers for hospitals with emergency services. I don't know
of a good way to fit Himawari in, really. It's a service for people
who live in Tokyo, and while it's good information, I think it's out
of place.

How about a basic/concise poster as you have it now, and a few fold up fliers for people to take as they wish.

The flier could included expanded info for traveling foreigners in an emergency.
* how to find a hospital (how to ask for one)
* Essential vocabulary
* all emergency contact numbers
* I know there are a couple of free translator telephone numbers (I used one to call the police once)

I think we are in the beginnings of developing a "geek traveler's guide to Japan," and this is in the essential list in my opinion.
If given the option, geeks will find a way to hurt themselves somehow. ;)

Like trying to solder on the tiny desk of their hotel room. Ask Akiba. I am sure he has a lot of experience with that lately.

I was really impressed by the TITech foreign students handout that
Taylan brought along once. You could look at that for ideas and see if
you have anything to add. To be honest, though, I think if the
situation is less critical than a hospital, 110, or 119 call, the best
advice is "contact your embassy."
