I am trying to find information online, but I haven't found anything useful.  I remember having a discussion about them a month or so ago, but as most discussions that I had a month ago the specifics were lost.

What kind of RFID/NFC card is the suica card?  Another venture regarding my wife's business is installing a similar locking system, but I want to roll my own (or at least play around with the idea there of), and would like to see what is available for OSS hardware to read/write to a suica card.

It's based on Sony's FeliCa, which was first used in HK as the Octopus card.
Wikipedia link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FeliCa
Sony page:
http://www.sony.net/Products/felica/
Products @ Switch Science:
http://www.switch-science.com/products/list.php?name=felica&search.x=0&search.y=0

Reading seems easy enough with the PaSoRi dongle. I saw some open
source attempts when I searched last.

Oh, and the SDK. I downloaded it last April but never got time to play.
