I just came back from USA this early morning (to Tokyo) and I seem to
be getting sick and it seems like allergy, similar to kafunsho, but
I'll need a few more hours before I know. My wife and kid had similar
symptoms from 2-3 days ago (throat problems, eye problems, etc.)
me, I am immune to anything as long as I drink enough red wine daily.
but my sober wife had running nose and felt sick all day on Sat.
she is prone to some sort of allergy on season change...
she was almost ok yesterday and seems ok today.

If it is not allergy,
do your kids visit a kindergarten?
If so, ask there... they know pretty well what kind of diseases are
spreading at the moment among their members ;)

The ragweed is really terrible this year. I wake up most mornings
with an itchy throat, clears up usually within a couple hours after I
have eaten food and drank something (no not wine (~_^)). My
chiropractor said he use to have the same problem back in the states,
he just took a lot of Vitamin C and it doesn't bother him so much
anymore.

Living in AZ was brutal. EVERY time I went out into the sun I'd sneeze three times. Without fail. Every day. For 15 years.
People tend not to believe me.. until we'd hang out at lunch every day at work. "Jeez dude.. every day this week you sneezed on the way to lunch." "um dellingh-u I hab a sun awer-ji"

I have to sneeze six times in a row after lunch/dinner...
almost 80% of the time and ALWAYS six times in a row...
Checked for all kind of food allergies but (knock on wood) I am allergy free.
So if you are a weirdo... well, we could have our own exclusive club...

I can confirm that theses days are not the worst but clearly not the easiest for the allergic people in Tokyo. My wife suffered on Saturday's morning but now is ok. I feel some uncomftabitily in my eyes and throat too for several days for the first time in my life.
Re ragweed, I have just read that Mugwort is a perennial plant that is a member of the daisy family and a relative of ragweed. And just in case you didn't know Mugwort in Russian language is Chernobyl. What a coincidence!

OMG THANK YOU. Seriously. All this time I just thought I was broken.
For me its a combo of the light, and my face shriveling up until my eyes adjust. Ive found it more likely to happen in warm or hot light than cold also.
Walking into a bright airconditioned room.. sometime but not always.
