Hi all,

Green Line Velo is hosting its 4th annual edition of the Purgatory Road RaceIn order to make this race happen, we're looking for a team of volunteers to help support the race. This is the biggest event of the year for us and for the second year in a row, it's also functioning as the Massachusetts State Championship Road Race! We're really excited for a day of great racing, but we also want to make sure that we maintain the high level of organization and participant safety that consistently ranks Purgatory Road Race amongst the best in the area.

If you'd like to help out, please go to our VOLUNTEER SIGNUP PAGE, and sign up for one (or more) shifts throughout the day.  If you can volunteer all day, sign up for all 3, and earn my eternal gratitude.

Our teammates, race officials, local police, and volunteer road marshals work together to keep both race traffic and motor vehicle traffic running safely and smoothly.  As a volunteer you'll not only get free lunch, you'll get a great view of the day's racing on the course and will help to ensure that Purgatory 2012 is as great a race as it's been the last 3 years (and hopefully even better).

General responsibilities for road marshals (we'll explain this on the day of the race)
   - Direct & usher participants safely through various intersections on the course
   - Work with law enforcement at intersections where a traffic right-of-way is being modified
   - Communicate with race personnel

We're working on some special gifts to say thanks to each and every one of you.  We REALLY appreciate your help, and we're looking forward to seeing you out there this year!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Dave Warner, who is the volunteer coordinator this year and cc'd on this email.

TL;DR: Help volunteer at the Purgatory Road Race on June 9th. You do not need to know anything about bike racing to help. Volunteering consists of extended picnicking along the lovely roads around Sutton, MA. You can sign up for one or two of the shifts and then go climbing or hiking at Purgatory Chasm. It's going to be awesome.
