Currently, the TinyMe forum <http://tinymelinux.com/forum> is run on
SMF<http://www.simplemachines.org/>.
Except for a few months where I was working with phpBB3, the TinyMe forum
has always been SMF, even when we were just a section of the MyPCLinuxOS
forum. I have also used SMF because of its plugins and its skins. Currently,
there are about 300 plugins and about 75 skins available for the current
version of SMF. There are many more if you're willing to fudge on version
compatibility.
However, a couple of weeks ago I began to reassess the choice of forum
software. I went to the SMF site to check up on the progress of version 2.0
and found out that there has been a split in the SMF developer community.
Since I found out about this split, I have been assessing other forum
software and have toyed quite a bit with MyBB <http://www.mybboard.net/>.
I'm liking it more and more. I have installed a test forum here:

To see some of the reasons as to why I like MyBB and my opinion of how well
it stacks up against some other forum software:

If you currently have an account on this forum, your login details will be
the same as I've ported the SMF database over. Feel free to make posts on
that forum and kick the tires, but realize that anything you do there will
eventually go to the great black hole in the sky. Feel free to report any
issues you find either on that forum or in this thread.
Speaking of reporting bugs, one of the things which I really like about MyBB
is an addon I found, an issue tracker. Unfortunately, it doesn't put any
links anywhere, but you can find it here:
http://tinymelinux.com/test/mybb/tracker/
Any issues you find with MyBB can also be reported on the tracker.
