The answer of course is -1, which is real, and apparently not complex
to ti's way of thinking thus csolve returns false. What results were
you expecting?

csolve gives all solution regardless of complex or real, eg,
csolve(x^2=1,x) give x as 1 and -1. i expect csolve to give all ans.
that is why i am puzzled by teh output.

The reference guide has stated this problem. Apparently TI is well aware of the issue and chooses to deal with it by a warning on the manual.

I see what you mean. Csolve gives real number answers sometimes but
not all the time. Wonderful, just wonderful, a warning in the
manual.
