In addition to the new software, we're going to get new
hardware….sometime. Anyway, the 360º views are now working on TI's
site, and I've found some really cool things, and not cool ones!

TI-Nspire CAS TouchPad
• The batteries are now under the touchpad, and yes, it's removable.
• Despite the removable keypad, there appears to be no options for
other models. (WHY can't a CAS use the 84-compatilibty mode?! It'd be
useful for me, especially in physics where I could get better data
collection options.)
• The keypads are NOT interchangeable by design. The top of the CAS
keypad is actually curved, though the connectors appear to be the same
if someone swapped cases (CAS board in a non-CAS case, like an 89 in
an 84 case…..)
• The CAS now includes a Press-To-Test LED light
• Price $159 MSRP. (Same as Clickpad)

TI-Nspire Touchpad
• Doesn't include the 84 keypad. However, you can request a free one.
• Price $149 MSRP (Same as Clickpad)

Both of them
• Include student versions of computer software
• New color scheme
• The Rechargeable battery can be used in addition to 4 AAA batteries.
It appears to be the same model for both calculators and needs to be
placed in the back. It is hidden behind a panel with screws
• The Rechargeable battery appears to be 3.7V and 1230 or 1280mAh.
(Not bad but less power than a full set of AAAs)
• RAM and ROM are the same, no idea about the processor, but likely
the same

So, what do you think? I'd like one, but can't quite justify the cost,
unless someone bought my calculator. There's not much point in getting
a new regular Nspire since the touchpads should be available for $10,
unless you really need the software, rechargeable batteries or the
color. I'm very confused why the CAS version can't use an 84 keypad. I
think people would make use of both. Also, it doesn't seem like it,
but I really think this will replace current models as there's not
much reason to get a clickpad version now.

I just found the comparison chart on the TI site. (See the link
below).
Assuming that nspire and nspire cas columns represent the 2.0
capabilities, it is much more useful than the manuals for
determining any new capabilities.

It's worth noting that is out of date - As the Nspire Numeric now has a polynomial root finder, not sure when that was updated last...

Thanks for the heads up.
