When you are not using the emulator, but you using the software you can use some of the keyboard shortcuts like
pi
@e, for Euler's number (or you can use exp(2x) for e^2x)
@>, for the conversion operator
@ i, for imaginary number

The menu is already expanded at the top of the screen. That is a good idea for an improvement for the software. How can this be accessed with the shortcut.

ALT, t, t will give the Math Template
ALT, t, b gives the symbols

What do you get by pressing HOME:
ctrl i will insert a new page and then you can pick what application you want;
The document settings are ALT, F, t (It is under file)

There are some others that you can access through the Help. It says that is on pg 577 of the TI-Nspire CAS reference guide.
