If that doesn't answer your questions, I suggest you state the issue with explicit steps to take to recreate the situation. Then I (or anyone) can duplicate your steps, see the results, and then make appropriate comments. Maybe something like this:
1. Create a Task with name TaskA.
2. Set a filter with these rules:......
3. Start a new time record....
4.....

Glad the "New Time Records" template helps!
As for your other requirement, I'm slowly updating TimeSlice to take advantage of some of the newer MacOS features, as well as removing some depreciated functionality. I'll be posting the new releases to the beta group <http://timeslice.us/mac/beta/>, and that would be the place to work with me and the other beta users to better understand your requirements. You may want to join that group, as I hope to post something there soon.
