entered serial no. for vers. 3.4.9.2 . Mac OS 10.4.11
Can start, pause, stop, and type in FOLDERS, but cannot enter anything
in Edit or Edit jobs. Nothing happens.

You didn't give us the steps you took, but I'll assume it's these for Edit Jobs:
1. Start a New document
2. Click Edit Jobs icon
3. On the Jobs window, click the + button to create a new job
4. Enter data such as name, hr rate, etc.
Which of the above steps does "nothing happen?"
