ξ3.466?

The default unit of ξ is the hour unless otherwise specified with a suffix like "m" for "minute" or "s" for second.  This is the next default credit limit for all members when the next person joins the system.  ξ3.466 is "value time"--representing a duration of time of almost three and a half hours. The limit is designed to provide just enough credit for all members to start trading in time without any confusing central banking mumbo-jumbo, bond markets or fractional-reserve hocus-pocus.  The default limit is the same for everyone and grows and declines at the same rate for everyone.

How many hours are there in the money supply?

Right now, there is potential for up to ξ106 of starting credit money to be earned from members in the system. Introduce yourself in the group and advertise what you can do or what you can offer. The more members there are, the more opportunities there are to trade value with each other. When you use your own credit, you're drawing upon yourself--there is no interest to repay, breaking the web-of-debt's cycle of economic collapses that current fiat-money systems have every 20-30 years.  As more unique members join the market, the money supply scales gradually.  As members use credit, when there are enough people, available credit regenerates at a very slow rate for all members.

Time as Money is not a get-rich-fast scheme. In fact, the use of existing measures of value or wealth (dollars, yen, euros, gold, etc.) is actively discouraged to promote thinking about the creation of value and wealth in terms of time. That's right, the money is measured in hours, minutes, seconds or even smaller amounts.  If you can create value more efficiently than other members of the market you become the wealthiest in the market.  Conversion of fiat money into ξ is not encouraged because it makes the comparison of transaction values harder.

Intrigued?   Find answers for questions like: If you grow your own food, how would you price it? and How much credit do members get to trade with?  Post questions about the system here and see the Links page to find the blog and other resources as they are made available.

Getting Started   Register your e-mail address into the system and seek out an endorsement from other members. Members of the market are unique and managed by the market. Your address is never sold to any third party; it is used to identify members and for news and account status reports within the system. The easiest way to get endorsed is to trade with existing members!

What do I get when I join?  You get two accounts tied to your identity: a credit account and a debit account.

How many hours do I have?   All members currently have ξ3.401 of credit. New members start with ξ0 of debit.  Money is created when you pay credit to another member of the market. If you pay another member from your debit account you haven't "created" money but instead have transferred wealth--money already earned from another member's credit.

These unhappy times call for the building of plans that build from the bottom up and not from the top down, that put their faith once more in the forgotten man at the bottom of the economic pyramid. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt
