Hover over tiled vectors?

Mike and others,

I am working on a Polymaps map with a large set of vector overlays served by TileStache. It's working well, but…

since my vector outlines are tiled, they are not complete. I've turned off clipping, so we don't have vertical and horizontal lines at the tile boundaries, but when I set my hover class to fill in the polygon, it only fills in the portion of the polygon in the tile I am hovering over. Each polygon has a single class and a unique id, so I am thinking I could use a javascript to turn the fill on for all polygons of that id and then turn it off when the mouse leaves, but this is a lot of js code to be running when the users mouse is zipping around.

Any shortcuts?

Anyone solve this already?
