This is actually a known issue that has been talked about a little in the "TiddlyFox" Thread:

It seems to effect all versions of windows based firefox's that need TiddlyFox to work with Classic TW.
As far as I know the only known work around for using TW5+Firefox+Windows is using Firefox 14 or below.

Hello,

I have with a lot of joy been using TiddlyWiki classic for some time.

It works fine on FF20.0.1 under Windows XP with the most recent TiddlyWiki version 2.7.1 and with TiddlyFox latest version (1.0alpha16) from Github.

I now tried TiddlyWiki5 and have not been able to save changes.

The error message is NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH (see attached screenshot).

Any suggestions on what to do would be much appreciated.

Matthias

Thank you for the quick response, Arc Acorn. I had gone through that thread but must have got lost in the flurry of versions and operating systems discussed there. Hopefully this issue will be resolved. TW5 looks like a real improvement on what is already a wonderful tool.

Hi Arc, Matthias

I've just posted a fix to TW5 which should fix the issue that prevented it saving properly with TiddlyFox on Windows. Let me know how you get on,

Best wishes

Jeremy

TW5 is saving for me in 23,22,21,20 now.

However I noticed something a bit odd:
If I edit a tiddler and do nothing but past some text in and save it nothing get's saved.

Also even if I make other edits if the last thing I do is past something than only everything before what I pasted is saved.

In order to get pasted text to save I most past it and than do another action such as make a [space] or [line-break]

Hi Jeremy,

Many thanks for the quick response and the immediate fix!

Plain sailing now for TW5+TiddlyFox on FF20 on XP.

The pasting issue that Arc mentions does not seem to occur in my setup.

Best regards,
Matthias

Thanks Arc, Matthias

The pasting issue should now be fixed, let me know how it goes (it was only occuring when using the context menu to paste content, which was how I'd missed it; I always use the keyboard).

Best wishes

Jeremy
