Orphans = nothing linking to it. 

My solution to this was creating a tiddler I named: ExcludeOrphans

And than I link to anything I don't want to show up as Orphans in that tiddler.

I also tag my "ExcludeOrphans" tiddler with:

excludeMissing excludeSearch excludeTimeline

To avoid it showing up or causing issues in other places.

I'm on Version 2.7.1 and have noticed whenever I edit one of the shadow tiddlers, they immediately show up in More Orphans and I wish they didn't.  Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Many shadows tiddlers don't exist until you click on them / Make them the first time, which is why they show up after you click on them the first time.
