UnaMesa support staff will be performing scheduled maintenance on the tiddlywiki.org servers between Saturday 5 December 2009, 22:00 UTC and Sunday 6 December 2009, 10:00 UTC. As such all TiddlyWiki.org sites and services maybe be unavailable during this 12 hour window. The purpose of the maintenance is to apply security updates, update software packages and modifying host configuration to facilitate more secure backups and improve reliability. We apologize for any inconvenience the downtime may cause you.

Regards,

Saq Imtiaz on behalf of the UnaMesa Association.

Hello Saq,
Since you are working on tiddlyWiki.org anyway please change the
search default button on the first page from "GO" -> "Search" it would
do a much better job by searching something. A dialog named Search
should perform a search (my opinion).

eg: If I type "tiddler" and hit keyboard-enter it goes to tiddler. I
am expecting a list of search results.
If I start typing eg: "t" my browser automatically lists about 10
words I typed in recently. So "GO" and "Search" are hidden. Normaly I
hit "enter" then, which aktivates GO what I don't wanted.

And GO most of the times goes to the wrong places. Search does what I
want. (as I discovered today).

I was a normal User when I found TiddlWiky.org the first time (3 month
ago). Since some days I have made an account. And now I can change the
search preferences to find something. eg: "wikify" finds 17 results
when I am logged in and 8 when I am locked out.

When I search a site I expect to find many hits. If I think some of
them are not usefull to me I need a more specific search. Then I want
to specify some filters. Or in case of tiddlywiki.org unselect the
selected "namespaces" at the bottom of the list and search again. (I
found this today)

So in case of "wikify" it is also possible to boost the search
performance by more then 100% if the default settings search the whole
site. So that a newbe user finds something, and didn't need to know to
much about how to handle the site.

kind regards
Mario
