The plugin at http://tspotsetupplugin.tiddlyspot.com/ is not the
latest version.

I spent considerable time scratching my head over "chkHTTPReadOnly vs
readOnly" business before concluding that I have to yet again create a
new tspot site just to get the right version of the plugin.

Please! I have been using my TW file for quite some time now and I am
relying on backstage "sync" function to tell me when I need to update
my plugins.

Thank you.

Tiddlyspot supports every version of TiddlyWiki that the UploadPlugin
works with, including versions that pre-date sycing and backstage.

We added the new way of specifying non-readonlyness to the plugin when
sites started needing it (after figuring it out with a little
head-scratching of our own). So, any tiddlyspot site created with a
version of TW that needed the new way of specifying non-readonly, got
it.

If you upgrade your TW to a new core version, you might need to make
some changes to things like setting non-readonlyness. I feel like
that's something you should expect when you do a core upgrade.

However I think you're suggesting, in a sort of roundabout way, that
tiddlyspot should put the latest TspotSetupPlugin somewhere, and use
that as a syncable source for the plugin in new tiddlyspot sites.
That seems like a good idea, and I'll add it to the list of stuff to
do.

Yes, thank you. I was under the impression that the "somewhere" is
http://tspotsetupplugin.tiddlyspot.com/. Not so much for the new
tiddlyspot sites, but for people who upgrade the core on their own.

Maybe I should, but since it was TspotSetupPlugin that was setting non-
readonlyness for me, I wasn't.

Thanks again for your help and for keeping up tiddlyspot.

Ahh I see where the confusion comes from. I thought you'd made that
site to hold your "old" copy of the plugin, for linking to from this
thread. I see now that Simon made that site back in May in answer to
another thread. Perhaps we should make it an "official" thing.

I've refreshed that site now anyway.
