Hi Foks,

I think, one of the most complicated things in tiddlyspace is, to get
attention. If you join TS it will be very common, that nobody knows
you. So nobody follows you. That's why nobody sees your public
activity stream.

There is an activity space. But it shows everything. I am pretty sure,
that some of my public stuff isn't worth viewing :) And also, as a
"consumer" I don't want to see everything.

That's why I was searching for a simple mechanism, that gives everyone
the possibility to get attention. Even, if nobody follows you.

I created the news [1] space. Which is a successor to my groupie [2]
space

Only 3 things are important.
1) You need to be listed
2) Your news tiddler needs to be tagged @news
3) To see the news at your homespace you need to create a link there:
News@news

add 1)
*To get listed, you need to create a tiddler named: @news at your
homespace and tag it: list

add 2)
create a tiddler at any of your spaces, and tag it: @news

add 3)
have fun!

====
This simple mechanism makes it possible to get every tiddler tagged
@news, in _any_ of your spaces and display it. So every information
can stay, where it belongs to. There is no need to put everything into
your homespace.

If you don't want to be listed anymore. Just remove the "list" tag
from your @news tiddler.

If you want a message to disappear. Just remove the "@news" tag from
the tiddler.
====

have fun!
Mario

ToDo's:
*Limit the time, where a news tiddler is treated as new
**I think some core plugin (tsScan) tweaking will be needed. (jon :)

Hi Mario

Great, many thanks for putting this together. Once again, it's very
interesting to see social conventions emerge. I'm interested in how we
can deal with "stale" news (like my
http://jermolene.tiddlyspace.com/#MoodOfTheDay), through filtering and
visual indications.

Cheers

Jeremy

I thought. At the beginning a message should be "new" for 1 week.
Except a "mood of the day" which should have 24h :).

For the news space, I planned to have an hardcoded archive with Month
1-12 and Week 1-52/53
-m
