TiddlySnip is a great extension. That's for creating it; I've been
using it for years. Unfortunately, Firefox 3 is really hard on
extensions. I don't know why they've made it so hard to add
extensions, but I can't get TiddlySnip to work. I've stopped FF from
checking the version, changed the version it checks and changed the
version number in the TS install.rtf and nothing seems to get it
working completely.

At this point it will snip, but the preferences menu comes up blank.
Any ideas.

Hi Jack,

I've just downloaded Firefox 3 RC2 and installed it over the beta 3
which had the TiddlySnips extension already installed. All aspects of
TiddlySnips seems to be working fine although it rejected a couple of
other extensions I had installed.

I downloaded FF3 this morning (Paris Time) and couldn't re-install
TiddlySnip; message "TiddlySnip will not be installed because it does
not provide secure updates" (or sth like this in French)...
is there a workaround for a non-computer science expert/ non-
geek ? :-))

I have developed the habit of saving the xpi files in a folder like
FFAddons then for installation on Firefox clicking File>Open
File>*.xpi

Give that a try maybe coming from the local disk might help.
Make sure TiddlySnip is TiddlySnip 1.21beta.xpi
