Do you think this chainless e-bikes has a chance?

One company in south Korea, introduces new designed chain less electric bikes.

They said  “This e-bike has a generator in bike BB, @300w hub motor, folding, carbon frame & in frame battery, 37.4 lbs, max 19 mph, 3 hours charge-25 mile range”.

If battery discharged out, how to return home? by the two legs?

Looks like there is space between the pedals to hold a gear to send
pedal power through a vertical shaft inside the vertical tube above
the pedals, then that could be redirected inside the tube going to the
rear wheel.

Just guessing, but that's fun too.

They said pedals makes thumb throttle feature(Japan PAS system ?).
BB include generator. so generator could be charging battery even if
battery discharged out.
also they adopt EPS(Electric Power Steering System). that company
produce car parts.
I don't know why they adopt chain less system and power steering
system.
Tomorrow I have chance to visit big bike show.
perhaps I could be touch this bike. if possible, i'll add more info.^^

Yes, the pedals power a generator which sends power to the battery and
hub motor. So you can move the bike by pedaling, even if the battery
is discharged. But a chain drive is 97+% efficient while a generator/
motor combo is less than 80%, so it is a complicated systemt hat is
much less efficicent thant he traditional approach.

Hi, I visited bike show.
this electric bike looks some bluffing. BB include generator, but output is
just 2A/37V max. if battery discharged, rear hub motor could not run enough
by generator power. also this bike does not equipped EPS(Electric Power
Steering System) as their assertion. It is wrong information from web.
funny story from their staff "if battery discharged, you can generate
electricity by your hand or foot. bike can go 1.5 mile by two minute power
generation." so I chuckle. I thought bike concept designer would be fall in
difficulties if this bike going to market without weak point fix.
