My guy Travis Edens who guides on both rivers says the bite has been incredibly strong in the spring and early summer but with the lack of rain it’s been a bit more erratic. Apparently topwater bite has been strong.

I’ve had some pretty good days on yellow gurglers and on streamers of various kinds. Plenty of nice smallmouth around, although this heat wave is probably putting them down. Last week I also landed four channel cats on a blue/black clawdad. Should pick up with some rain and cooler temps later this week.
