FIRST TPFR BEER TIE A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

What can I say folks.  In a word, last night was awesome!  I want to extend my most sincere thank you to everyone who turned out, and what a turnout it was!  I also wish to thank RiRa for hosting our crowd.  And let's give a big thank you to Dalton for teaching with me at the beginner's table the entire time, and for being the originator of the BEER TIE idea. 

 

For you statisticians, over 40 people turned out with more than half of that number tying.  12 people sat in at the beginner's table, many of whom tied their first fly EVER!  We collected 7 dozen flies for the CCA to raffle at their upcoming banquet!  Let me just say that again - 7 DOZEN!!!!!  Incredible work everyone.  We raised over $100 for the club thanks to all of your kind donations.  Pints of Guinness poured.....I lost count!

 

The level of camaraderie exhibited by everyone last night was inspiring, and everyone seemed to have a great time trading fishing stories, tying tricks, and otherwise sharing and learning from one and other.  Congratulations to Casey Peltier, who won the drawing and will receive a FREE TICKET to the upcoming NoVa CCA Banquet on March 12, courtesy of Ernie Rojas.  One last announcement - someone left a very nice sweater at the beginner's table last night, and since it doesn't quite fit me I would like them to have it back.  I will keep the sweater at the Orvis shop for the owner to pick up at their convenience.

 

Thanks again to everyone for making the BEER TIE and the club such a huge success, and such a resource for our area angling community.  Without you, all I'd have is a blog.

Great event and a HUGE thanks to everyone that tied flies. Seven dozen
flies? There will be a bidding war on March 12 at the NOVA CCA Dinner/
Auction. I can guarantee that because I will be doing a lot of the
bidding.

It was also great to talk to several of the members....a good time for
sure.

Cograts again to Casey for winning the Dinner ticket (the desert
alone is worth the price of admission)!

7 dozen flies!?!  That's a great haul!  Next time I'll hold a 'benefit' for myself!!

I had a great time!  It was really something to see so many there! I hope to meet more of you in future events!

Let me add my thanks to Dan and TPFR for a great night. Not only did
he sell my wife a fly-tying kit for Xmas (for me), now he's got me out
drinking Guinness on a Monday night. Fantastic! Also a pleasure to
meet voices from the board, including Todd, Dalton and Bruce. And Ms.
Dan!
