Comment:

 The problem may be specific to certain server configurations.

 I was able to replicate the problem under the various scenarios:
 1. Using email template via $this->Email->template = 'templatename';
 2. Using SMTP delivery method $this->Email->delivery = 'smtp'; (default
 SMTP options)
 3a. Using HTML format $this->Email->sendAs = 'html';
 4a. Using a template that uses only \n and not \r\n
 alternatively,
 3b. Using TEXT format $this->Email->sendAs = 'text';
 4b. Using a template with either newLine delimiter.

 Every email spec I can find says newlines should be \r\n and I think the
 email component should ensure that's the case.

CakePHP : The Rapid Development Framework for PHP <https://trac.cakephp.org/>
Cake is a rapid development framework for PHP which uses commonly known design patterns like ActiveRecord, Association Data Mapping, Front Controller and MVC. Our primary goal is to provide a structured framework that enables PHP users at all levels to rapidly develop robust web applications, without any loss to flexibility.
