Assalam O Alaikum,

It is the famous Hadith narrated by Ibn Umar Radi Allaho Anh, he reports that he heard Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam saying :

الحجامة على الريق أمثل ، و فيه شفاء و بركة ، و تزيد في العقل ، و في الحفظ ~ السلسلة الصحيحة 766
"Hijamah at an empty stomach is the best, it has the Shifa (healing) & Barakah (blessing), and it increases the wisdom & memory".
For some patients who can't arrange themselves early in the morning, you may cup them with a fasting of 4-6 hours, water is allowed during the fast, but solid food should be avoided. We have noticed that when the stomach is full, blood drainage is lesser, the blood flows towards the stomach for picking up the nutrition & hence the drainage slows down. On the contrary, empty stomach is the best time for Hijamah.

Those who are under the spell of evil eye, JINN or SEHR, they sometimes vomit during Hijamah, it is the sign that the spell is broken & it comes out with an urge to vomit, if the stomach is empty, the Mahjoom never vomits, he just feels it, but if his stomach is full, all the food will come out.

We have noticed that there is no harm in eating immediately after Hijamah, the Mahjoom should take honey, dates or some fresh fruits.

Subject: regarding empty stomach before hijama

assalamoalaikum

bhai shami tell me that is it necessary for a patient to emptied the stomach before hijama. or  it is particular to any diseases. i always tell my patients not to take breakfast before hijama, as i practice the hijama in the morning. as it is a time of barakah. other wise i told the patient not to eat or drink one hour before and after the hijama session, as taught by our respected hijama teacher Shaikh MUHAMMED Sudani and Dr. Amjad

jazakALLAH
