Bhai Zubair, Assalam O
Alaikum,
Plantar fascia is a thick fibrous
band of connective tissue originating on the bottom surface of the heel
bone and extending along the sole of the foot towards the five toes. Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation
(irritation and swelling with presence of extra immune cells) of the plantar
fascia that can cause heel pain and make walking difficult. Some risk factors
for development of this problem include foot arch problems, obesity, sudden
weight gain, running and a tight Achilles tendon. The pain is usually felt on the underside of the heel
and is often most intense with the first steps of the day. Another symptom is
that the sufferer has difficulty bending the foot so that the toes are brought
toward the shin. A symptom commonly recognized among sufferers of plantar
fasciitis is increased probability of knee pains.
Surgery for Plantar fasciitis carries the risk of nerve injury,
infection, rupture of the plantar fascia, and failure to improve the pain.
Traditional surgical procedures, such as plantar fascia release, are a last
resort, and often lead to further complications.
It is better to drain the entire
leg, as patients with Plantar fasciitis may also develop knee
pain, so you can cup the patient as:
-
2 cups on each
side of the knee
-
2 cups on each
side of calf
-
2 cups on each
side of ankle (above the ankle, so that the ankle bone is not occupied inside
the cup)
-
2 cups on the
foot as we do for Gout patients, you can see the attached
picture
If you will drain
a single leg, the other will be felt more heavier by the Mahjoom, so we usually
drain both the legs in a single session. But if the patient takes it as an
aggressive cupping, you can drain the knee & calf (of both legs) in first
session, & then the ankle & foot in the 2nd session after 30
days.
Because Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation, the patient
should avoid animal proteins, dry nuts, legumes, soda drinks, tea, coffee and
vegetable oils. Henna water at empty stomach with a tablespoon of Frankincense
is a powerful, Anti-Inflammatory medicine from Tibb-e-Nabawi. You can read
more about Frankincense at:
It is our experience that the Somali Frankincense (Lubaan Lami) is
the best in this world, you will definitely find it at Somali shops in
UK.
