Hi, a friend is in trouble when trying to use their Launchpad.
He made a video in Portuguese explaining the problem, but it can be easily understood by an American just by looking at the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=23Du3kzyFKs
Appears "already in use" on USB.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Wich version of the board is he using?
Wich version of IAR?

He said in the video that in the desktop it works, but in the notebook it fails, can you list the differences between his desktop and notebook? (version of IAR, version of windows and so on)

Did he tried at CCS?

Regards,

Maybe you should look into the settings options of the project, in IAR the default debugger  is simulator, you must change it to fet debugger.

I don't have a solution but I can report that I have the same issue.  I have a Thinkpad that works just fine with CCS and IAR but my Dell, running Win7 64-bit  encounters the same issue your friend has.  No matter what COM port I select it will not upload to the launchpad.  I get an error message saying the device cannot be found and, in IAR, the com port shows "already in use".  At first I thought it was a problem with support for Win7 or even 64-bit Win7  but I've talked with people running Win7 64-bit who have no problem uploading to the launchpad with CCS.  I hope we find a solution to this soon.  The real puzzling thing is that my Dell - the same system which won't upload code to the Launchpad - has no problem uploading to the TI EZ430-FP2013. Go figure!
