The POP IMAP and SMTP servers are throwing an error. I opened the
jsconsole and here they are:

nsSMTPConnectionManager.js: Start : Exception : NS_ERROR_FAILURE.
Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIServerSocket.init]

nsPOPConnectionManager: Start : Exception : NS_ERROR_FAILURE.
Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIServerSocket.init]
51

nsIMAPConnectionManager.js: Start : Exception : NS_ERROR_FAILURE.
Error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIServerSocket.init]
46

I checked my firewall settings, and I have those ports enabled.

POP: 110
SMTP: 25
IMAP: 143
and those are all enabled in the firewall.

On Linux and Linux based systems (like Mac) it is necessary (because
of the requirements of the operating system) for you to change the
default ports in the Webmail extension to numbers greater than 1024.
Please remember that when you change the ports in the Webmail
extension you must also change the corresponding ports in Thunderbird
itself for your associated POP, SMTP or IMAP connections.

Ok, now whenever I try to get my mail from my hotmail account, it says
Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop3.live.com
responded: authentication failed

Then, quite simply, you are not using these extensions.

If you want to use the freely available POP/SMTP servers for Hotmail
then it has nothing to do with this forum or these Webmail extensions.

For receiving mail with the Hotmail POP server (pop3.live.com) you
need to select in Thunderbird:

POP port: 995
Secure connection: SSL

If this is your choice then you can uninstall the Webmail add-ons.

If you want to use these extensions for Hotmail then let us know and
further instructions can be provided.
