Hotmail stopped working

Judging from my last email in my hotmail folder, it stopped working a
few weeks ago. Haven't even noticed. I tried sending myself a new
email and I see it if I log in through a browser but in thunderbird I
just get the msg "connected to localhost" briefly.

However, my gmail is still working fine.

I've gone through all the tutorials, updated all the addons, and
disabled my antivirus. I am at wits end. Please keep in mind that
all my hotmail and gmail accounts were working perfectly 3 weeks ago.

I enabled logging and go to the directory. After I try to get mail, I
don't see the modified date on the files updated. Which means that
the log files aren't always written to? I'm a bit lost on how to look
at the log files to diagnose my problem.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer me any suggestions.

Is there a message in the error console

Have you updated your virus checker or firewall

clues?

Look for Hotmail in the file name

The only other file with hotmail in the name is:

HotmailDomainsLogxx-x-xxxx
HotmailPrefsxx-x-xxxx

RESOLVED!

It was an antivirus issue. I have Eset Nod32. I told it that
thunderbird is NOT a web browser so that it stopped scanning
(interfering) with web access.

All my hotmail and yahoo downloaded on restart of Thunderbird along with
my gmail.
