I'm using Thunderbird 9.0.1 with WebMail 1.4.6 and GMail 0.7.5.

My problem is that when I download mail, it remains unread in server.
If I want my unread messages count to be set to zero, I must enter
GMail website and view there my mails.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

Can you use Thunderbird's built in IMAP to access Gmail? If you can, the
state of mails in Thunderbird and on the server will always be in sync.
(Apart from the short time between intervals when TB checks the mails)

I use IMAP for access to Gmail and Yahoo.

Thanks for your answers, but, obviously, I use webmail extension
because I can't access GMail via IMAP (router traffic control)

Recently Microsoft has released a plugin for Outlook to access Hotmail
via web (http), avoiding this way router traffic restrictions (the
same a Thunderbird WebMail, but synchronized with Hotmail Server
settings)

With ThunderBird 11.0 problem still remains, and GMail downloaded mail
with WebMail stays unread.
