Tried to install the extension and it give me a message that it cannot
install with FF 3.0. Am I missing something here?

It's because the Webmail extension is meant to be used with Thunderbird, not Firefox.

I don 't get it either... I am new to mozilla products (Tbird & FF).
Don't you use FF to download the Tbird extensions?

Thanks,Shiraz

You use FF to download and save the file. Then you install it in Tbird.
Because FF and Tbird use the same XPI extension for add on installer
files, FF will attempt to install the file if you just left click on the
link. You then get an error message because Tbird add ons don't work
with FF. You need to right click and "Save link as".

To download the TB extensions, you could use any browser as you right-click and save the file to whatever directory you wish. Do that, then open TB and go to Tools>Add-ons>Install, then browse to the directory you saved the extensions in (unzip, if necessary). TB will guide you the rest of the way.
