After numerous restarts and one hard drive crash (I backed up... until
I used my thumb drive to transfer other files :/), the redesign has
started. Instead of redoing the whole site and uploading it when it's
completed, I've decided to tear down the whole site and upload as I go
along. Otherwise, it will never get done.
As of right now, Crank Yankers and Depeche Tone are back online. The
sites are functional with the exception of pages I feel no pressure to
produce as they are rarely used anyway (Link to this site and the
disclaimer, for example.) I will probably redesign them in
alphabetical order (or maybe I won't. *shrug* Tomorrow... er later
today I'll add a poll so you can vote on which site I work on next.)
with the exception of This Is a Recording (Proper) which will be
reorganized and redesigned lastly.
The changes:
You'll notice that obnoxious yellow background and theme is back. For
some of you, it is probably the closest thing to sunshine you'll see
all day. Amirite? No need to thank me, though, really.
I've attempted to improve the navigation as I've heard from some that
the site was difficult to navigate as well as a snarky comment from a
competing site which used AOL Builder. We can't ALL use AOL Builder,
you know. We all don't share the same level or experience or
expertise. You should try to be more tolerant. Or something.
I'm getting rid of a lot of crap. ...no expounding necessary on this
one.
I will be completely reorganizing This Is a Recording (Proper).
Recordings will be organized by keywords instead of classifications.
This should make sounds easier to find on shorter pages (In theory.)
As well as classification by keywords, sounds will be classified by
area code and perhaps by area code and prefix.
The additions:
Sounds to This Is a Recording
More text files on MySpace manipulations as well as one about Facebook
as well. I has a Facebook nao. *grin*
Sites I took down to redesign or because of some stupid arbitrary
reason I can't even remember will be resurrected.
Sorry if I rambled more incoherently than usual. It's 4am. I shouldn't
even be attempting to write this. And proofreading... HA!
Thank you, as always, for your continued interest in This Is a
Recording,
Peace and rotary dialing,
jenn
