Cathy- I was able to get into Orleans parish (though
difficult) and rescued my 2 cats. I saw the SPCA
trucks there and they were taking boats into
neighborhoods. They were breaking and entering homes
with peoples permission to rescue animals. When I saw
them, they were on Napoleon Ave, rescuing animals in
flooded areas north of Carondelet. Thanks for all
your efforts!

Angela, Great about your cats and the SPCA! I know they're trying. UPSET
about NAPOLEAN. Do you know if it's flooded at NAPOLEAN AND MIRO? It's just
north of Claiborne. That's where my parent's house is.

Please Remove me from this email list. My friend used my computer to find
his cat and today I have 68 emails at this very secure email address.

Greatly appreciated,
Buddy Cancienne
May God bless you and keep you,

Buddy, I'm so Happy! You were the 5th one on the list WAY back last week!
Could you tell us how the cat was rescued, details, and if ANYTHING we did
actually helped you? ALSO, our latest listing is on Edenborn, at apts down
the street. Any ideas? Is your rescuer still there?

Could you tell us details about HOW & WHO rescued them? It's helpful to know
how people are getting in, which neighborhoods are actually accessable and
what condition they and the pets are in.

There were a bunch of animal groups working together.
There were 5-6 trucks-- I remember LA-SPCA, Houston
SPCA, some animal society of Boston, and a couple of
trucks that just said Animal Rescue on them. They
said they had an 180 page list but that there were a
lot of duplicate names because many organizations had
passed on their list. They also said that there were
several teams doing rescues although i am not sure
what other neighborhoods they were in. In the garden
district, the flooding starts at about Carondelet and
increases towards Claiborne. One guy told us it get
to be over 6 feet deep. West of State St it was much
drier but many of the roads were impassible. We
weren't able to do much driving around (we werent
really supposed to be there, roads were impassible,
and there were national guard everywhere.) I had some
friends' addresses I was going to stop by but I
couldnt make it to anyone's house. The animal
rescuers were in air boats. They had 2-3 running. I
saw some rescued cats and they looked fine. I think
there is some delay in notifying people because I have
friends whose cats were to be rescued that day(tues)
and they have yet to be notified.
