My t-shirt search engine site Teenormous uses Sphinx facets:

Click on a recent search or perform a search and the left hand side
uses facets.

Hey - neat site. I wanted to make something like that :D.  it doesn't
look like you can combine facets on your searches, though? Like, red
AND men?

You can combine any number of facets together.  Here is a Red and Men
(Male) combo of Star Trek shirts for instance:
