How can I set the location of my mysql.sock file in sphinx.yml?

I tried

sql_sock: /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock

but it does not work. ts is still looking in '/tmp/mysql.sock' for my
socket problem

I'm really new to TS so bare with me.

have you tried putting it in quotes in your sphinx.yml?

sql_sock: "/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock"

TS should actually use the socket value from your config/database.yml
file.
