i sent a bunch of emails suggesting it, no response or any changes..
its been a long time since its been like this (since the redesign)
thanks for recognizing its an issue. I really think it should be
bumped up to a higher priority. make some script that you invoke when
you select something as a featured item, have it crop the center of
the photo, generate a new image or something.. make it automatic.
you will end upwith some images with strange crops but at least they
wont be distorted. i know its a pain to set up but you only have to
do it once.
it just looks so bad right now. if you have a small browser window
open to thingivese and all that comes up is a horribly distorted image
of something and that just looks terrible. can you imagine if
makerbot did that on the front page of the makerbot.com site? i dont
think anyone in the company would stand for that considering the
attention to detail that i have seen from the company in the past two
and a half years i have been a customer.
