It's been over an hour since the "Things People Have Made" have been
updated.  The photos are just showing the default icon.

A few enormous STL files were clogging the rendering pipeline.

They've been cleared out and the renderers have caught up on the backlog.
 Everything should be rendering smoothly once again.
