WOW!

What a great find I always wanted to see a remake of this once the technology was available.  What was everyone's favorite scene in the orignal movie? Mine was seeing the Kraken in live action fighting Perseus.

Yeah that does look pretty good.  I think my favorite was with Medusa when he's fighting her.

I loved the original with great passion.  Deep, abiding, mad love for it.  I loved that the gods were all washed-up British stage actors and I loved the hurky-jerky monsters.  Magnificence itself!  I love when the Penguin cries out "Call no man lucky who is not dead!" and I love when the statue's head falls off and its eyes open with the goddess' face.  I love Calibus and his goofy fork hand and I loved the Kraken and the way Poseidon looks underwater while he is releasing the Kraken.  It's all good.  A masterpiece.  Magnificence itself.

The remake looks fine as far as remakes go.  Saw the preview.  It looks like God of War, the movie.  I'm not hating on it, but the original was...special.

I also loved seeing LA Law years later and recognizing Harry Hamlin as Perseus.  Was it the first time I had seen an actor in one thing and then another?  It may have been!

Yeah I loved the original too, corny as it may be to some. This new
version LOOKS cool, but I'm worried that some of the original charm
has been lost in translation....I like that they kept the gods looking
old-school (Zeus with white robes and big billowy white hair, played
by Liam, whose accent should help in keeping with the old movie) but
didn't like the modern style lines spoken in the trailer (by, I
assume, the actor playing the Burgess Meredeth part; "... GONNA have
to take a stand!"...I much prefer the more Shakespearian style
delivery the actors used in the original. That dude playing Draco (I'm
assuming? The warrior guy with a sword in MANY of the scenes of the
trailer... MORE than the long-haired Perseus) looks like a cross
between Brad Pitt in Troy and Jason Statham, with the buzzcut and
grimacing, looks like he stepped out of a modern war pic and then just
dressed up in old greek armor. Still looks like an ok
film...just...different.

That's the new Perseus. Also the main cyborg guy from the most recent Terminator movie and is the main guy in Avatar.
