ITV is reportedly working on a reboot of SPACE: 1999. I cannot fully express how excited that makes me. My favorite show of the Seventies and 2nd overall. Please let this happen!

I loved it too, but I'm hesitant. Too many reboots have been utter disappointments.

This would have been much funnier if they had kept the name, though.

The words "complete reimagining" frighten me... kinda how they
completely reimagined Battlestar Galactica. I might be in the
minority, but I mostly hated the BSG remake (it started off ok, but
later fell flat). I stand firmly in the camp "If it ain't broke, don't
fix it!" I loved the original Space;1999, would like to see it again
if done with care & without straying too far from the original
concepts (especially the Ship designs...loved the Eagles!)

I'm right there with you on Battlestar. The mini series was awesome. The regular series then started out good but just got worse over time.
I used to love Space 1999 growing up. I even had the metal lunchbox. However, I recently tried watching it again from Netflix and couldn't stick with it past the third episode. It doesn't hold up well. Hollywood trying to resurrect it is ludicrous.

"Hollywood trying to resurrect it is ludicrous."  And sadly resurrecting Space 1999, or 2099... whatever it will be called, seems infinitesimally better than a movie based on the game Battleship.  Just watch the preview if you doubt me.
