Not to preempt anything, but can someone offer a recommendation for a reaso=
nably priced USB mic / sound card suitable for screencasting? I'm using Ca=
mTasia on Win XP, but it would be especially nice if the mic/sound card als=
o works with Linux, in case I ever find the time to get that working.

Talking about soundcards makes sense, I've made a note to add that to
the hardware section.
Could you give me some details about your setup when I start work on
that section? I only use USB mics so I don't have experience of
better soundcards purely for better audio input, I'd value your
experience at that point.
Re. "Wooo about blender, is that with the 2.5 that a screencast tools
will be added ?" - HeathenX (http://screencasters.heathenx.org/) was
telling me that he mostly uses Blender as his video editor, it is FOSS
and very powerful. I'd have never thought to use a 3D production tool
to edit and produce screencasts!
I don't think that Blender has any screencast-recording capabilities,
you'd use recordmydesktop, jing or screentoaster for free recordings I
think.
Cheers,
Ian.
