I released a new (private) version of the Handbook to some of my longer-term
readers a couple of nights back, this version (v4) has 10,300 words and
includes the chapter 'how to make a screencast in the next 30 minutes' aimed
at first-timers. The screencast on the blog is discussed in this chapter
and the planning, practice and recording details are clearly explained along
with a few more examples:

I'll be releasing the book to a few extra people in the next week and
checking the payment gateway and then (probably in 2 weeks from now when I'm
back from a break to Barcelona) I'll release a discounted early version of
the book to everyone who is on the mailing list. Since the book is still at
a very early stage (I plan to write 70-100k words) it will only be released
to people who are on the mailing list and there will be a discount applied
for all early purchasers.
Just so you know - the target price for the finished book is $39USD. I'll
be offering a 33% discount to early bird purchasers and as the book becomes
more complete, the discount will decrease. All purchasers will get all the
updates through to the final first edition.
More details to come when I've written the next chapter!
Ian.
