Subject: arduino driver - windows

I do not seem to be able to download the arduino driver.  I followed the
instructions at the arduino web site.  However when I go to 'control panel,
system, hardware, device manager' a new category appears '?Other devices.
?USB'. It does not show the arduino UNO which is plugged in.  If I try
'update driver' the wizard appears but cannot find anything with arduino.
If I go to 'Programs, National Instruments, VISA, driver wizard' and follow
instructions for USB it all seems to work, EXCEPT the driver still does not
appear in 'device manager'
What am I doing wrong? Or alternately, what should I do?
thanks in advace for any help!

mr. p;
Are you still having problems? The driver you need to get will list itself
as a 'TTL' or 'Serial' Driver, it won't list as an Arduino driver.  Are you
available Thursday evenings? If you are (and you are working on a laptop)
 please reply to this some Thursday when you can go to a The Hacktory. I'll
try to make it there to help you install the driver, or someone else at the
open house can help.

hack on,
- Far
