Hello All,

We are in search of a A1/Sound Engineer for our Production of Next to Normal.  Normally I design and mix, but we are sending this show out "on tour" for a week in Kansas City after its run here, and that overlaps the tech week for our next production. Rather than have someone come in at the end, I managed to convince the higher ups it would be a better idea to hire someone for the whole run so the only challenge of the tour leg was the venue change.  Anyway, I'm posting the official ad below.  Arkansas Rep is a LORT D theatre located in Little Rock, Arkansas.  For questions and more details about the job or Arkansas Rep visit our website www.therep.org or email me direct at mjpr...@therep.org.  Thanks for the bandwidth, and I look forward to expanding our team for this production.

Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks a Sound Engineer to mix its production of Next to Normal. This is a 7 week contract beginning April 29 running through June 10. This includes one week of load in/tech, a four week run in Little Rock at Arkansas Repertory Theatre, one week of tour prep, and a one week run in Kansas City. Professional live mixing experience for musical theatre required. Familiarity with digital consoles (Allen and Heath iLive series), audio networking, and touring experience a plus. The successful candidate will work with The Rep’s Resident Sound Designer to build the mix of the show and will be expected to actively mix each performance for a 6 day/8 show performance week. During the run of the show there will be a microphone tech/A2 for wireless prep, break down and troubleshooting. For the Kansas City leg of the production the Engineer will load in, mix all performances, as well as direct the sound load out and ensure that all Rep sound equipment is returned. The Designer will accompany the production to Kansas City for the load in and dress rehearsal. Housing will be provided throughout the contract, pay based on experience. Please send resume and letter to Jason Pruzin, Resident Sound Designer, at mjpr...@therep.org.
