I thought this article was interesting.  What are the odds that this gets expanded out to theatres as well?  I know a lot of larger theatres offer services for the deaf and hearing impaired, but I don't know how much interpreters mention about music playing in the background and what not.

Excerpt:

A federal judge ruled this week that FedEx Field must do more to accommodate hearing impaired patrons and must begin captioning all music lyrics broadcast over the stadium's public address system.

The decision, in a lawsuit filed by deaf and hard of hearing Redskins fans, appears to be the first such ruling under the Americans with Disabilities Act and could lead to similar challenges around the country, an attorney for the plaintiffs said.

I wonder if it has more to do with how music is used at sporting events to engage the crowd -
From the trumpet trill followed by the crowd yelling "Charge" the mexican hat dance to
"We will Rock You" with the crowd stomping along -
it's much more interactive than mood music playing behind a scene in a play.
