All of the An Turas Mor teams in June will be tracked using
yellowbrick GPS trackers from www.adventuretracking.com. These
devices, which can last 10 days without needing a battery charge, will
send a team’s GPS position every 15 minutes via the Iridium satellite
network to a map on the event’s website.
We are testing two of these devices during An Turas Beag. If all goes
well you will be able to see live “snail trails” for Fiola Foley
(elite) and Brendan O’Brien & Harry McGee (team) here:
http://www.irishadventurechallenge.com/gps-tracking.html
You can also see this in Google Earth:

We are trying to get a mobile phone version going here:
http://live.adventuretracking.com/Phone/anturasbeag
but this will only show Grid References, not a Google map.
Of course, it’s pointless telling you all of this because you will be
competing, not web-browsing…
